Sarah's photo shots (click here)
Check out my pictures. I took those pictures 2 days ago. I love my new professional camera. I guess if I study hard, I can turn my hobby into a business ;-) I'm still working on my portrait photography skills. I am reading tons of books about portrait photography and professional techniques for location photography. I bought a reflector the other week and I finally figured out how to use it. I just need to practice, practice, practice.

:-)
It's freezing this morning but the road's clear. Isaac took me to work since we only have 1 car as of the moment. He went shopping while I was at work . It's a last minute Christmas shopping. He's not a procrastinator, it's just kinda hard to have one car right now. I wish we can commute here. I miss riding in a metro, taxi and jeepney. But anyway, I don't have to go back to work until after Christmas. I get to sleep in tomorrow and spend quality time with my husband. I have to enjoy this before he goes back to work. We're car hunting right now. We're thinking of getting an SUV or something bigger than our totalled ford escort. After the wreck, we decided to get a bigger car. Aside from the freezing weather, we're doing absolutely good and we're excited for Christmas and New Year. Have a blessed Christmas and a prosperous new year to all!
2wks after the wreck. The scar is almost invisible (at least in the picture)

It's Isaac again
Well, I'm doing better. Not the best but better. We just got home from a doctors appointment and the doctor said i should be able to go back to work on January 12, the day after my birthday. I wish I was off of work because of a vacation and not because of an accident but its alright. I do like being home and spending time with Sarah ! That is very nice! Another plus is that i get to catch up on all of my day-time soap operas! HaHAHa just kidding, but seriously,Christmas will be nice and New years will be fun and i'll even have my Birthday off! Sweet! I think I need to be my own boss and start working at home for myself! That way i could do all of those things and not ask for a day off from my employer. The question is, what should I do? I need to find a million dollar idea like a rubber chicken or a pet rock, or something. Maybe a cologne i could call it " Odere de Isaac". I dont know how well that would work though. Especially if Sarah cant even stand using the restroom after me!!! Well these pills are making me drowsy and giving me selective amnesia among other things....I love you all and hope i see you all soon!!! I also would like to thank you all for all the calls, prayers, cards, balloons, food and messages. I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts.

birthday party part 2
I had a post birthday party today. It's a surprise of course. I don't know why my husband decided to celebrate it twice. When I asked him why, his reply was, " You're extra special, so you're getting an extra birthday party". He's just the sweetest! I had breakfast in bed this morning and a birthday party this evening. Thanks for those who came, and for the birthday gifts. I love them all. I also had another birthday cake a.k.a chocolate french silk pie and another special wish.

I love my cake
Birthday 2008
My birthday/Christmas present. A photography starter kit.Love it!
Yesterday was my birthday! I wasn't expecting anything from Isaac. I just want him to recover and rest, but we had a long debate. He did not want to rest that afternoon. He wanted to bake and cook something for my birthday. I tried to stop him but I gave up because he won't let me anyway. He said he needed to do something to make him feel better. Anyway, my sweet husband baked me a birthday cake and cooked chicken enchilada. It was the best! I know he's not supposed to do it but It made him so happy while I was blowing my cake while he was singing the birthday song. I nearly cried but I was able to control myself. I didn't want to ruin the moment. I honestly say that yesterday, was the happiest birthday I've ever had.I'm just so filled with joy that we're together. Isaac is the best present ever! He's the sweetest person I know. I'm not going to say I'm lucky. I am truly blessed!

Tyler's Birthday!
Isaac's home and he's happy to be alive!
Isaac is feeling much better today. He can't do the electric slide dance yet but at least he's walking. He gets tired easily though and his left hip is still bothering him but he looks so much better than yesterday. He was discharge from the hospital at around 9:30 am. It's indeed a great birthday present for me see him walking, talking and joking again.
Before we came home, we went to the the tow place to see his car. We took some pictures. The car looks pretty bad as you can see. It was a good car and it had good gas mileage. The good news is, it has full coverage.

Elder Romarate
Meet my youngest brother, Elder Joseph Romarate. He's currently serving a full-time mission in Bacolod, one of the most beautiful islands in the philippines. We call him a "Giant" because he's pretty tall. He's 6'2 the last time I saw him and it seemed so long ago. He's not just a "giant" to me but also a spiritual giant. His strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ strengthens my own testimony.I am so proud of my brother. He is such a blessing to us. Whenever I see his mission pictures, it reminds me of the good old days when I, myself was a missionary like him. It was truly a blessing for me to serve a full-time mission...not one moment of my mission life I considered it a sacrifice.I can truly say that It was the best 18 months of my life and it went by so fast. I'm grateful for that once in a lifetime opportunity.I would love to to it again with my husband someday.I'm thankful for all the Missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I do hope and pray that my youngest brother-inlaw Jesse will decide to go on a mission too :-)

Who says baking is a girl thing?
My husband is not a pastry chef but he can bake like a "pro". It's his natural talent which he discovered 2 years ago when I demanded that he should bake my 1st birthday cake here in MO. He was hesitant at first but he did it anyway ( It's all because of love baby...awww). For my first birthday,he made me a black forest cake which probably took him approximately 4 hours.I was restricted to go to the kitchen and watch him though. I was very impressed with the outcome. It was also very delectable. And then last year, he made a chocolate cake with cherry filling and strawberry icing. It's fabulous as you can see. I married a sweet man who bakes delicious cakes. Anyway, you're probably wondering why I'm blogging about this. Well, next week is my birthday. We'll see if I'm getting a cake this year.

Winter is back!!!
I'm not sure if it's officially winter but it already snowed last sunday and today. It was more like a surprise to me because it was definitely unexpected. The reason behind, is because I don't watch the weather channel. I don't watch TV that much anyway. But I must admit that it was a pretty sunday morning. For the first time, I was happy to see the snow. It was very unusual to me because I'm not a winter person. I grew up in the Philippines and I'm a self-proclaimed island prinsesa ...go figure!
This is only my 3rd winter. My main goal is to love and enjoy it (wish me luck) It's not gonna be easy though because I hate driving in the snow and I get so cold easily. But I can do it, with the help of my killer lookin' fabulous 50% off snow boots.Yay!
About the picture I posted, this picture was taken during my first winter.Obviosly,I was so thrilled to build my first snow man. And then right after that, I asked Isaac a very important question "When is spring coming?"

Edward Cullen
I've watched the much-anticipated movie "Twilight" last week. It was a good movie! You will appreciate the movie more if you read the book before you watch it. Anyway, I was telling Isaac that pale skin is the new trend because of Edward Cullen. Say goodbye to orange tans! But even before "twilight", I always tell Isaac that white is beautiful. I married one.

Can't wait for Christmas!
Okay, you might think I'm a little too early to put up our tree. Isaac told me that I should wait after thanksgiving before I start decorating for Christmas. Is that a rule? Anyway,I can't wait that long. I'm way too excited. So yeah, our Christmas tree is so back. Last year, I told my hubby that we should name our tree. Just so you know, her name is Fergie :-)

twilight
I like Stephenie Meyer. I've read all her books. Twilight is the first book that I've read.On the surface it may seem like yet another "vampire love story, vampire fell in love with a human" kinda story, but Meyer has a way with storytelling that makes Twilight stand out. I am very excited to watch the movie this friday

PQCM 2003-2005
I am blessed to marry a man who served a full time mission. He's a great man with a good heart. He's my spiritual adviser and my best friend. I'm so proud of him. So I made a compilation of his mission pictures and I included some of his baby pictures. He has tons of pictures but I don't have time to scan pictures right now.I'll post some more soon.

What's new?
1.It's getting colder and I'm definitely not ready for winter. I love my new boots and new coat though :-)
2. We finally bought an electric range. We were pretty much contented with the stove that we borrowed from Isaac's mom, until one day, we just realized that it's about time to bake! And our microwave looks lonely without a matching black range.hah!
3. I gained 9 lbs from our 3 and a half weeks vacation from the philippines. I lost 3 lbs after a month. Not bad I guess.
4. I got another job. I'm busy as a bee. But I still get to spend quality time with my husband
5. I'm playing the piano this December for the Plymouth Club.
6. Isaac is getting a sunday off soon. Yes!!!

Amazon Kindle
I watch Oprah almost everyday.Yeah, Im a big fan. Anyway, today's show was very interesting to me. First, the quartet "Il Divo" (italian for "divine performer") sang "Amazing Grace" in her show and it was truly amazing! I like operatic pop. My taste in music is different from Isaac. I listen to pop, reggae and R&B but more often that not, I prefer music that soothes my soul. Kinda like music you hear from the spa. It's not the kind of music to listen to when you're driving though.
2nd, Oprah Winfrey also unveils her favorite gadget in today's show and it's absolutely cool. Meet the Amazon Kindle. It's a wireless portable reading device with instant access to more than 190,000 books, blogs, newspapers and magazines. Oprah looks at it as an environmentally friendly investment . It costs $359. Expensive! I can't afford it right now but I wish santa will get me this gadget for Christmas.
The pumpkin man!
Latest update from our family in the Philippines and Australia
I got an email from my sweet sister Carla (we used to pull each other's pigtails when we were little by the way..hehehe) Here are some updates from her. She actually sent me a long letter. But here's a summary and I'll add a little bit too...
Let's start from the Oldest to the youngest..
Mama Mia (my mom)- Is getting married!hehehe.Just kidding. Anyway, my Mom is planning to be a temple worker after Joseph's (my younger brother) mission
Temblor family- Jun(my bro-in-law) just won an award given by Yamagata Foundation in cooperation with ACE. He was 1st Runner Up in the 2008 Enterpreneur Academy Awards. We're all very proud of him. Way to go!!! Carlo, DJ and Crystal are doing great! Crystal is a miniature barbie doll. Bambi needs to give away some of her handbag collections to me :-)
Ho family from down under- Jazmin (my niece) has an Aussie accent now and Kay(my sis) & Jaz might come home June '09 so a mini reunion is being planned. Carla wants Boracay, Mom wants Palawan but we'll still ask Bambi(my sis) because we all want her to finance it... ha ha ha...
Santiango family- They're fine. Patrisha( my niece)can read now and has just declared that her new name is Patty.Cute! She's still a picky eater with the energy of a dynamite. Carla (my sis) is still a trendsetter as always.
Carlos Jr- Is dating a nice girl and he actually reffered her to the missionary. Keep up the good work bro!
Joseph- Is on his mission right now and is currently an office Elder. He's going to hit his one year mark in 3 months.

High School Musical 3
Yes! I have watched High School Musical 3 today! I'm a little too old for that movie but I must admit that it was a cute movie.I got a day off from work today and since I have nothing to do aside from teaching piano later in the afternoon, I took my niece with me to watch that movie with quite a few kids from church. It was pretty fun!The kids had a blast! And since I haven't watch the 1st the 2nd one, they insist that I should watch it coz I'm missing out something. Kids ages 5-10 actually think that I'm out of this world because I didn't know Zack Efron. I think it's hilarious! At least now i know him. Apparently, he's the newest matinee idol. Go figure! And yeah, Vanessa Hudgens is the cutest! What can I say? She's half filipina :-)

Kansas City Temple
We are getting a temple soon. It's only 20 minutes away from our home. I was filled with joy after hearing the announcement for the greater Kansas City temple. What a great blessing to have a temple so close to where we live. It will be built in the Shoal Creek Valley area. That's all the information I know so far but I will definitely write more next time.

Home Sweet Home
We bought our first home this year. It's a 3-bedroom-split-entry home( or whatever you call it). We definitely enjoy decorating our new home. I usually re-arrange our living room every week (Yeah, that's what happens when you read "Home decorating ideas" magazines. Isaac is so happy about the dishwasher!Goodbye disposal plates!Hallelujah! It was kinda sad to leave our first "love nest" which we rented for more than a year. But we're happy to have our very own home.
