Goodbye 2009

It's been a wonderful year for us... full of happy moments and big surprises. We are looking forward for 2010, specially for our child's arrival in this world. We would like to greet our family, friends and even blog visitors a PROSPEROUS HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Love,
The Schaefers
This picture was taken when I was 2 weeks pregnant. I did not know at that time of course! But we will post a new family picture soon. We're still waiting for our little man.

Finally...

We finally bought the travel system that we actually love. We love the bicycle tires that allow us to jog over variety of terrains. It has adjustable easy-grip handle, extra-large storage basket, it folds easily, and of course, we love the unique style. It's perfect for us! The price is also reasonable. Isaac assembled it so we can take it to the fire station for inspection as part of the requirement from the hospital. I did not even know that it's a requirement. There is no such thing in the Philippines. But anyway, if it's for the safety of our child, I'm good with that.

Bonus picture of the Father-to-be. Dang! he looks good with the baby stroller.

Glee

I'm not a Glee addict. But I have watched most of the episodes.I guess because it reminds me of High School and College. I've watched the last episode of season one and I enjoyed it. This particular song is kinda stucked through my head. I think I love this version than the original one (sorry Kelly Clarkson) I love the song, not so much the choreography though. Watch it!

Mommy Sarah's Christmas present

This year, we both agreed that we are going to buy a little present for each other, specially we're having a baby. But seriously, we're getting better in budgeting. Our son has taught us the importance of frugality and he's not even here yet : -) Isaac even told me that I don't really have to buy him anything. But of course I did! How can I not? After all, he's the best husband in the world!!!

So anyway, here's my Christmas present from Mr. Isaac.

It's an awesome diaper bag with matching big blue dressy purse. It has to be blue cause we're having boy!hehehe. Even though we already talked about getting just a little present for each other, he got me 2 big items! Mind you, it's not expensive, but way too CUTE. Big purses supposedly will make you look smaller, according to fashion world. :-) So yeah, I'm excited to be a mommy, holding a diaper bag, a big blue purse and a handsome baby. Hmmm....interesting. I can already picture myself. It's going to be AWESOME and HEAVY! Yay for me!

35 weeks!

I am 35 weeks pregnant today! I have few more weeks left. I still feel like there's a hundred of things to do, even though almost everything is ready. Could this be pregnancy blues? I don't know for sure.

We already have a birth plan. Our hospital bag should be ready in a couple of days. Just in case he decides to come out a little early.

My belly is rounder and bigger this week. I know that my baby doesn't have much room to maneuver. But I do know that he's comfortable in my womb cause it's cool and cushy there :-)

Here's my latest picture...

I kinda like this picture cause I really don't look fat here. But I'm sure I'm bigger in person :)

I would love to give my husband another SHOUT OUT cause I know when Alex is out, this blog will be all about him. Babe, thank you for being the best! This pregnancy is so much easier because of you. Thank you for your patience and love. I love you very very much!\

It's a White Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas eve with the in-laws. Dinner was awesome! I tried not to eat to much, but it was a little bit hard to control my strong appetite. We opened all our presents after dinner. Isaac and I got lots of wonderful presents and we're very thankful! We love them all! Even our little Alex got so many presents. We had to open it for him. He got some really cute toys and cute baby stuff.

In behalf of Alex, I would like to say thank you to the following: Grandpa, Grandma, Job family, Schaefer family(from Utah) and Aunt Symber, for all the super adorable gifts. This boy is going to be so spoiled from you guys! :-) So anyway, I just have to document this one. Here's a picture of Alex's Christmas gifts...

After the party, we rode home on a blizzard while listening to Christmas music. It was crazy! It took us a while to get home. Isaac had to drive really slow, but it was fun!

When I woke this morning, it's a white Christmas. I love it! It's still snowing outside. I don't mind though. Weird huh? I'm not really a snow person. But this year is different. I kinda love it!

We are going get together again later with the family. Isaac will definitely go sledding. I will just watch him this year. And then tonight, we'll open our presents for each other. Save the best for last.

Happy holidays everyone.May we always remember the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ and the true meaning of Christmas. God bless us all.

Nesting Mode

We have been cleaning the entire house for the past few weeks. I'm grateful for Isaac's help. He's doing all the heavy work. Alex's nursery room is almost ready. All we need to do is to arrange his bookshelf, wash the rest of his clothes and arrange them accordingly. Since I'm in my nesting mode, I feel like I have OCD. I really don't have it when I'm not pregnant. I just want everything in order and nice, so when the time comes, I don't have to worry. I just want to be focused on my new role. We still need to buy few more stuff before he's here but so far, our to-do-list is almost done.

Today, I added one more thing in his nursery room. It's a cute baby cradle/ swinger from Alex's Aunt Robin. Thanks Robin! I'm sure he'll enjoy the different soothing sounds and lullaby music. It's is adorable!

Alex is more active now. And boy! I can tell he's grown a lot. He loves to kick my ribs right before I go to bed and around midnight! :-) Thank heaven for little boys!

34 Weeks Pregnant

I have 4-6 more weeks to go. I cannot believe that I will be holding a tiny baby in my arms very soon. Just the thought of having a baby in our home makes my heart melt. He's already such a joy to us. We are so in-love with him. We know it will be a life changing once he's out. But we're both ready for a change.

I love gift cards!

Isaac picked me up today after work so we can go shopping for Alex! It was so much fun because we did not spend a single dime!!! We used the gift cards and visa card we got from my shower parties. Alex got a total of $250 gift cards from Target, BabiesRus, Walmart and Kohls. Can you believe that? What a lucky little booger! So anyway, we bought him a nice mattress for his crib, because it didn't come with a mattress.I didn't know mattresses for babies are pricey! But at least I don't have to think about that anymore. We also bought him some super adorable clothes and diapers. We still have extra balance from our gift cards. But we'll wait till next month for last minute shopping. Here are some pictures, minus the mattress...

I picked these outfits from BabiesRus. Way too C-U-T-E!!!! Alex is going to be the talk of the town :)

Isaac picked these. The sporty onesies says " Mommy's all star", and the blue one says "Mom thinks I rock" I so love these. Nice choice babe!

We bought more hangers and diapers. This green shirt says "I'm the Boss when dad is not around" Again, Isaac picked this one. But really, the truth is, "Mommy is the BOSS!!! Let's just give Isaac a chance :-)

Oh Christmas tree! Oh Christmas tree!

Here's our beautiful Christmas tree. I was going to buy a small tree this year so it's easier and faster to decorate, but I changed my mind. I really don't want to spend money for a tree. So, we decided to set up our 7 ft tall Christmas tree, which we got for free 2 years ago from a family friend. True! It takes longer to set it up and decorate it, but It's worth it. I was worried that our puppy will try to attack it or chew the Christmas ornaments, but luckily he didn't. He was tempted a few times but when we told him "NO! NO!" he stayed away from the tree. He's used to it now and he's aware that it's not a chew toy.

I love staring at our Christmas tree with the lights on, while sipping a cup of hot chocolate milk. It lifts my spirit.

My Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday. I would love to say 25th birthday, but I'm older than that. I don't feel old though, even though my husband is a couple of years younger than I am. I guess because I feel like I look younger than my age. Mainly because I don't have a single wrinkle on my face yet. And when I let my students guess my age, the oldest age I get is 22 :-) Okay, okay, maybe they just want to make me feel better. So I better stop bragging now.

It was a very fun birthday celebration yesterday. I had an extra special breakfast in bed.
Isaac made a heart shape pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon, with cinnamon rolls, fruits and grape juice. It was fantastic! He's so sweet!

And then Isaac gave me my birthday present...

It's a cute mother and child silver necklace with little diamonds. It's so special and I love it with all my heart. It's just the perfect present.

In the evening, he took me out on a date. He made a dinner reservation for 2 at Tokyo Japanese Restaurant. The food was delicious and they cooked the food we ordered in front of us! It was an awesome show. Alex was kicking a lot while I was eating. He's enjoying the food too.

After dinner, I had a little shopping spree. I couldn't find anything for myself. It's all for Isaac and Alex. I love my boys! They are my life.

After shopping, we took a picture of us.

Look how chubby my face is now. I hope it won't get any bigger. But who knows? :-)

The last part of the birthday celebration was the birthday song, and of course, the birthday cake. Isaac would bake my birthday cake every year. He's a good baker. It's his tradition now to bake my cake every year. I requested for a black forest cake with extra cherry filling. And he never fails me. He makes the yummiest cake ever!

Here's the cake that we indulged last night, with rocky road ice cream. It's so delicious! If you want some, you can come over. I can share some :-)

Here's the final picture. This was after I made a wish and blew my candles, while Isaac was singing a birthday song.

I had a happy birthday! I feel so special and loved. Next year, Alex will sing with Isaac. And I can't wait for that!

THE END

Winter is back!

It is freezing here in Missouri. It snowed pretty good. It's nice because we're both off from work today. We re-arranged our baby's nursery room, put up all our Christmas decor, talked to our baby Alex, played with our puppy Charlie, played scrabble, ordered some pizza and hot wings, watched movie and cuddled a lot :-) I enjoyed my day. I love the snow! It's beautiful! I just don't like the cold weather. That's the problem sometimes. But I still have millions of things to be thankful.

That's Isaac, getting our mail today. It's pretty outside

Charlie's first winter. He was so amazed to see the snow. He ate a lot of it today.

Doctor's appointment

I had my doctors appointment today. All is well. My blood pressure's perfect, and my weight is just right.I asked the doctor if my belly's way too big while he was measuring it. He says it's the normal size. He's assuming that we'll have a 6-7 lbs baby if I give birth on time. I guess my belly is not that big than I thought it was. I also finally got my H1N1 virus shot. I feel so relief! No need to be paranoid anymore. Our next appointment will be in 2 weeks.

Another Shower Party!

I had another shower party today. My boss organized it. She's so cool! I had so much fun! I'm pretty amazed with the attendance. Alex got some really cool presents and lots of gift cards. I am excited to shop for him.

I posted some pictures. The quality is not that good cause I just used my camera phone.

The coolest punch ever! (Ingredients: Ice cream, sprite and blueberry punch) So yummy!

My adorable cupcakes!

Presents

I feel so blessed for my co-workers generosity and friendship.
And guess what? I'm having another shower party next month at church! My friend is organizing one for me. I did not know that being pregnant is way fun! :-)

I feel beautiful

I already gained a total of 20 lbs. I can't seem to get rid of my weighing scale. I still have 1 month and 27 days to go. Yes! I am counting. If you noticed, I have a baby ticker on the right side of my blog page. I love to keep tract. It excites me! Even though I am getting huge, I actually feel so beautiful. I guess because I am carrying a precious child.I love flaunting my belly and let the world now that I am a happy pregnant woman! And I owe this to my husband. He's very caring to me despite of his busy work schedule. He would give me a back massage before I go to bed every single night, and he wakes up early, every single morning to fix breakfast without a complain. He would also find time to take me for a walk, so I can exercise a little a bit. What else can a pregnant woman ask for? Here's a latest picture of me. I am proud of my BIG BELLY!!!

It's December!

It's the last month of the year! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Where did the time go? Christmas is around the corner and my birthday is coming up! It's been a year since Isaac had a car accident. I remember going home from the hospital on my birthday. I really believe in the saying, " After the trial, you will be blessed". We have been blessed tremendously this year. It is beyond what we expected. I know there will be more trials to come. But I am certain that we can conquer anything with help of our loving Heavenly Father.
