My little boy is so precious. He came out 5 days early and he's a chunky beautiful baby :) It was so much easy this time. Only 9 hours of labor and 6 minutes of pushing. Not bad at all! With Alex, I waited for 27 hours plus 1 hour of pushing.

Epidural made it so much easy for me! I'm glad they invented epidural because I have low tolerant when it comes to pain.

So anyway, I took these photos this week. I'm glad I have a small studio in my house. Enjoy these photos :)

Here's a little preview of our baby's room. It used be my pink office room. Isaac painted it and I love the stripes. I will post more pictures probably next year. I wanna hang some newborn pictures of him on the wall. Ahhh so excited to cuddle a newborn baby. I'm sure Alex will be thrilled to see his baby brother.

Can't wait to meet our little guy soon. I am 38 weeks pregnant now and i seriously can't believe it! Alex will be an awesome big brother!

I'm getting bigger! But I do enjoy every minute of being pregnant. The baby is so active now. I cant wait to see him in a few weeks. Alex will be an awesome big brother.
So we finally we picked a name. His name is going to be Liam Isaac :) His dad picked his first name and I picked his middle name.

Baby BUMP!

I am 5 months along and I gained 15lbs! Wow! I have a pretty good appetite! I also love ice-cream and strawberry filled donuts. I indulge once a week and sometimes twice a week... it's my guilty pleasure. I cant help it. I'm a healthy eater but I need to eat food that will make me happy once in a while :) Seriously, healthy food can be boring.
I cant believe I'm halfway! We're excited to see this little boy! I'm sure Alex will be a great big brother! And I'm pretty sure my boys will help me lose weight :) So I guess I'll stop worrying about my weight.

We're having another BOY! Alex will going to have a playmate! We are very excited! Our little family is growing and our little boy Alex too.

Alex is now 18 months. He can say a lot of words already and is very smart. He's also bookworm. He participated the summer reading program this year and earned 3 free books. We read 72 books so he can earn prizes! He loved it! I am a proud Mama.
Everyday, he'll grab his favorite book, he will sit on my lap and just hand me the book so I can start reading. SO CUTE!

Alex is growing way too fast. He can say a lot of words and tries to communicate with us. He will call his Dad "Isaac" sometimes. He would say "Heck no!" and "Oh yeah" a lot and he's so funny! When he's in trouble, he will say "uh- oh! or "oh no". He's very adventurous like me and so kind and sweet like his Daddy. He's such joy!

So the latest news is, we're expecting baby number 2! WOO- HOO! I am 10 weeks pregnant. We saw her heartbeat 2 weeks ago. Everything is good! We're are so excited! Alex will have a little sister or brother this year or early next year. I still cant believe that our little family is growing. I feel so blessed! I'll try to keep you updated! I'll post a picture of my belly soon. Right now it's still tiny ( well not so tiny) but I don't look pregnant yet.. So I'll wait a couple of weeks till the baby bump shows.

I know it's been forever since I blogged. I need to start blogging again! So I'll try to post at least once a week from now on :) Hopefully...

Alex Thomas Schaefer is 1 year old! I can't believe I have toddler. He's such an awesome little boy. WE LOVE HIM SOOOOOO much!

Here are some updates about us :

- We had a wonderful Christmas together. Santa came to see Alex and left some presents since he's a good boy. He got a LOT of presents from everyone in the family. He was loaded with Christmas presents from the philippines too. He got a cool barong tagalog and lots of clothes from his grandma, Aunts and uncles. Yeah, I let them spoil him :)

- On 1-11-2011, Isaac turned 27. He thinks he's old since he's in his late 20's. Yeah right! I feel bad for him.LOL.

- Our Photography business is doing ok. Although it's pretty slow during winter since I don't ever shoot outdoor when it's freezing except studio pictures. It's ok though...I noticed that my studio photography skills is improving. So I'm happy with that. I have 2 weddings coming up and a few senior pictures next month. Hopefully more to come :)

- the most important event for the month of February is Alex's 1st birthday! We had to move his birthday party til next week due to the blizzard/snow storm last tuesday, 2-1-2011. It was pretty bad but I am glad Isaac was off from work.

February 2, 2011
-Our precious boy turns 1. I can't believe it's been a year since I gave birth to the most beautiful boy on the planet :) I know he's growing way too fast and I miss the newborn baby smell already. But every stage is always fun! He started walking at 10 months, and now he's running. He gets hurt a lot because he tries to run faster and then fall. But I love that feeling when he comes to me running, crying and wanting a hug and kisses whenever he's hurt. It's an amazing feeling. I love being his Mommy!

Eventhough we moved his birthday party next week. We still celebrated his special day. Daddy made his favorite dinner which is, italian spaghetti. I decorated the house and the table. I decorated the cake and also bought some ice cream. His Grandparents came to celebrate with us. They brought lots of presents for him. Alex this time knew how to open his presents. We trained him :) Enjoy these pictures. I'll post more next week.

I feel like I abandoned this blog ever since I started my photography blog and added a Facebook page for my photography. Check out my photography => BLOG. And Click here to view my Facebook page. This is my new photography website www.srs-photography.com and I just love it!!! It took 2 weeks to finish this website but it's worth it!

Anyway, so much about photography. Here are the latest news for this Month and a little update from last month's happenings...

-For halloween, he was a pirate and a monkey. He dressed up a pirate for trunk-or-treat, and a monkey for trick-or-treat. Thanks to my nice co-worker for the pirate costume and Robin for the monkey costume. He was stinkin' cute!

- Alex turns 9 months this month and he got his first haircut since his long hair was covering his beautiful blue-grey eyes. He did fantastic and now I can see his eyes all the time.

- I also made my 1st cherry cheesecake for his 9th month birthday. Thanks to Pete for teaching me how. She's a really good cook and so is her husband Brian. They are giving us a lot of tips and good recipes.

-Alex can now stand up on his own and push his baby walker and his other toys.He loves to crawl a lot though and he's all over the place. He is very curious! His current favorite toys are my pots, spatula, remote control, flip-flops and my piano! (not his small piano) Silly baby!

- He is 32 inches tall at 9 months and weigh 24 lbs. He's chunky and soooo heavy.

-He's a smart baby. Super talkative, active and cheerful. He's always busy. When he's quiet, he's up to something. So yeah, I follow him around like a puppy dog when he's not doing that to me. He's very friendly. Anyone, can hold him. He'll smile and wave a lot. He enjoys the attention.But when he's tired and hungry, Mommy or Daddy is the only one who can hold him.

-He had his first carousel ride with Dad

-He has 8 teeth

-He loves baby einstein show and Elmo

- He wears 18 months clothes and it fits him perfectly. He's kinda big really...

- We had thanksgiving dinner with the family. Alex had his 1st turkey and loved it! He's not a picky eater at all.

-Best of all! He calls "Mama" when he gets hurt or just want some lovin'. He's a love bug. He loves giving me hugs and kisses. It's definitely the best reward any mother could ever ask for from a baby.

I am very busy lately. It's a good thing though. So here are the latest updates with the Schaefers:

- Alex has 4 teeth and he loves repeating animal sounds like dog, cat, owl and cow. So hilarious!

- We officially started our photography business. I already started it before but I got pregnant and then I kinda took it for granted. Now we're back! And this time, we actually have a business plan . . We're still starting but we're getting inquiries and few gigs. We gotta start somewhere right? I am just happy because I still feel like a full time Mom. I have full control with my schedule and feels good. Our studio is still in our basement. We'll rent a place once we're established.

-I am down to 119 lbs which is my ideal weight :) I lost a total of 42 lbs. Yay! Yoga works for me.

-We're enjoying this fall weather

- We're healthy eater and finally stopped buying junk food.

-I love my new calling. I am the primary secretary and I love it!

We're doing good. We're still poor but we're healthy and happy! I will try to update this blog often. It'll be harder now because I have to blogs and a website to update. So anyway, have a happy weekend

8 months old

He's 8 months and he's a big, heavy baby. Alex is always the center of attention where ever we go. We took him to the park the other day he started waving and smiling to all the strangers there. He knows how make friends now. I also saw him flirting to a cute baby girl this week at story time. It was so funny!

He's a smart kid and very attentive. I started teaching baby sign language so we can communicate better and there will be no frustrations. He knows how to sign when he wants to eat. I'm teaching him how to sign "thank you" and " I love you". Still working on that.

He loves to eat! He drinks less milk now. He eats three times a day and his favorites are: green beens, carrots and squash. He's not a picky eater and I am happy that he loves vegetables and he'll eat any kind.

He's into books now. I borrow different kinds of board books each week. He loves bed time stories and church songs from primary.

He's also totally obsess with baby Einstein DVDs. He loves classical music and those funny puppets.

We are totally in-love with him. He is very sweet and loving baby. He's sweet personally is already showing. How lucky we are.

A very inspiring video. I love watching this over and over again. Elder Holland is amazing! I met him in person back in 2007 after our temple session in Salt Lake temple. We had a short conversation with him and it was an honor. We asked him some questions and He answered all of it with a smile on his face. He's really handsome!

He also advised us to always pray together and continue to go to the temple regularly. He is truly a man of God I felt his sweet spirit. He gave me a big hug and it was a Joy beyond compare. I hope to see him again in person someday. He may not remember me but I will always cherish our moments with him.

He loves water parks, pool and fountains. He's always curious. He actually got upset when we had to leave the park. He wanted to play with the water. I just hope the weather is perfect everyday. I'm pretty sure Alex will miss playing outdoor this winter. If only we can move to hawaii for the winter and come back when it's spring. Sometimes, I wish money grows on tree. Oh well, I am content with our simple life. I just wish we can skip winter...just saying.

Story time and play time

Alex loves story time, and play time with his new friends in the library. He also enjoys singing time. His teacher is so good. I just love her voice and the way she reads and interacts with children.Very impressive! Alex was very attentive. He's the youngest in the group but he's more attentive than most of the kids. I guess because he loves books. He's a little bookworm. Every night before bedtime, we read 3- 5 board books before we give him his bottle. And then I sing a few song before I put him in his crib. His Daddy would also do that same routine when he's off from work.

Isaac joined us at story time for the first time, that's why I got a couple of pictures during playtime. We also did craft as a family. Alex tried to help by reaching the glue and attempted to eat it :) Alex had a blast! He's very social! He'll wave and smile to anyone. He's a delight!!!!

So I bought a Baby einstein Worlds of Color dvd from amazon for $7 . It's a used one. You can get some really good brain developmental DVD's from Amazon for a very good price. $7 DVD +$2 shipping = PRICELESS. Just watching my son enjoying his new favorite show is definitely priceless.

It is our family tradition to pick apples every year. This year, it's Alex's first time. He was confused at first but he had a blast! He was so curios and really examined an apple tree filled with red, juicy and sweet fruits! He even helped us picked some apples! He did really great. Now my next step is to make some homemade apple crisp and apple pie. I also need to make some homemade apple sauce for Alex. I need to learn that.Wish me luck! Did I say I LOVE Fall? I think it's my favorite time of the year.

This week, we heard a wonderful news! My sister-in-law is pregnant and she's due in spring! We are so excited and happy! Alex is going to have a new cousin and playmate. Another Schaefer baby! YAY!

Then, I started browsing my pregnant pictures! I realized that I kind of miss being pregnant. I miss those back rubs every night before I go to bed, and those foot massages from my loving husband. I also miss the breakfast in bed everyday! ( yeah! I was such a princess and a diva! No wonder I gained so much weight. My thigh and butt got so huge!Hah!) I also miss those baby kicks and hiccups in my belly. I miss pigging out and not worry about gaining weight.Good times!

But what I don't miss being pregnant, is looking at the scale and be horrified... :) leg cramps, trip to the bathroom every 5 minutes, sleepless nights, my big face , big butt and thigh, mood swings and swollen feet.

But then, I don't mind going through that phase again because it's so worth it! Despite of all the hardships and adjustments during pregnancy, I was a happy pregnant lady and I felt beautiful and special! My husband made it easy for me. He's very supportive and loving.

I would love to have a baby bump again. We once decided that when I'm back to my pre-preggo weight, we'll try another one. I thought it will take a year or so to lose all the extra weight ,but it took a little over 6 months. Honestly, we cannot afford another baby any time soon. For now, we will enjoy our Alex boy and shower him with love.

He's really into books! His favorites are the "touch and feel" kind of books. He enjoys turning the pages and sometimes would pretend that he's reading it. He'll say "dadadadadada", then turn the page and starts saying "bababababa". It's so freakin' cute. I tried taking a video but then he decided he wants to play with my camera instead. I'll try again if I get lucky.

It's finally time to child proof the entire house. This boy is already crawling and just so curious. His latest obsession is my iphone, our kitchen cabinets and drawers. He will definitely be upset when he finds out that he can't open anything. I love this little guy. I am just so proud to be his Mom even though he's keeping me busy all day long.

41 lbs!

So I lost a total of 41 lbs in 7 months. Last month, I lost a total of 10 pounds by totally changing my eating habit, and working out more by keeping myself active. I eat rice like 3-7 times a week now. I eat steamed veggies instead of rice. It was boring at first but I love it now! It's weird because I grew up eating 2-3 servings per day. I was surprise that the transition went really well! Also I quit drinking soda. I had a sip today though but I plan to avoid it for good. I'm really not a soda person so it's not going to be an issue.

So anyway, it seemed like it took forever to shed those extra pounds that I gained, but some of my friends were telling me that I lost my pregnancy weight pretty fast. I don't feel that way at all because I have friends who lose all their excess weight in a month or 2... I'm dead serious! In the first place, they only gain weight in their belly. Their arms, legs and face stay small. So not fair! My Mom was exactly that way. After giving birth, she's skinny again in less than an month... plus zero stretch marks. Too bad I did not inherit those good genes :-(

My goal is not to become super skinny like those supermodels. I was once a size 2 and I didn't like that at all. I was slightly underweight and I did not look good in jeans. Not cool! I just want to continue to live a healthy lifestyle, not just for my self, but for my family... because they need me and I want to be there for them.

My little munchkin is not so little anymore. He's getting so heavy and active. At 7 months, his favorites and activities are:

-reading books with Mom and Dad and turning the pages

-pulling Mommy's hair whenever he can

-tickle time

-Baby Einstein show (totally obsessed)

-Playing the piano with his hands or feet

- Listening to Mommy's singing voice :)

-He can open and shut his hands when I sing "twinkle, twinkle" or if i just say "open, shut and open, shut"

-bath time

-He loves, carrots, banana and green beans

-He loves outdoor, specially the park

-He can say "Dada" "Baba", "Mama", and "He-yo (hello)" He mumbles a lot

-He loves to crawl like a worm to get his toys

-He loves his baby walker and jumper

-He sleeps 8-10 hours and would only take 2 naps a day. I cant complain cause I sleep good at night

- His favorite person aside from Mom and Dad is his Grandpa Mike :)

- He loves animals and cackles when they make sounds.

We love Alex so much. He's a joy beyond compare. I love being his Mom. He's a beautiful little boy. He's perfect.

6 months old

Yes! He's half a year old already. It's so hard to believe that he's 6 months old! He's growing way too fast. He's a perfect little boy and i couldn't ask for more. He sleeps through the night since he's a month old. I am talking about 8-9 hours here...even stormy nights and loud thunders. I guess he got it from us because we both love our good night sleep. He got his 6 month shots this week. As usual, he's a trooper. He cried for a 5 seconds and then he's good. He's very healthy and strong. He's also very smart.

He started his 1st solid food last month. He loves it! For now, he's eating gerber rice cereal and then we'll introduce him to veggies next week.

I am just so proud to be his Mom. He's a very happy little boy and very social baby. His laughter melt our hearts. We are definitely keeping him :)

We don't have to spoil our son with toys because our friends and family are doing it and we don't mind at all :) Seriously, he's a lucky baby! Look at all those toys! We did not buy them or spend a dime.They're all from our friends! Alex is a little too young to play but he's definitely showing great interest already. But wait.. I guess we still have to spoil him... with all the LOVE in the world.

New lens!

I finally got my new lens. It was delivered today via UPS. I was freaking excited that I had to wake my little munchkin from his nap so I can use it. I love this new lens. It's a Canon- 100mm f/2.8L Macron USM and it comes with a hood. The lens is incredibly sharp and the contrast is awesome! Great for macro and portraits with nice IS. When working at Macro distances, you can still get a pretty clean pic with the IS. It's worth every penny. I took so many pictures today. But then again, I can't post them all. Here are some:

Lately, he loves to pull my hair or whoever is holding him. He also loves to grab necklaces or earrings. No more dangling earrings for me for a while. He did this a lot today at my friend's shower party. I posted some pictures as evidence :)

This little guy also tried to steal my friend's spotlight. Okay, he actually did. He was laughing so hard during games and screaming with excitement that everybody was staring at him with a smile on their faces.

Alex is probably the happiest baby on the planet. He loves to laugh and smile. His laughter is music to my ears. Whenever I take him out from his crib each morning, he will give me the biggest smile ever! Whenever we play, the room is always filled with laughter. I love my little guy. Goodbye Atwoods!

Last Thursday was a sad day. Alex and I went to the Atwoods to say goodbye. They are moving to Colorado. The girls were my piano students. I am going to miss them. They're my adopted nieces. It's really true, "Friends come and go" but they will always remain in my heart. I hope to see them again someday when we "possibly" move to Colorado or if they move back :-)

Summer vacation

We had an awesome 1 and a half week vacation. It was a joyous vacation.We went to Utah and witnessed the Job's family sealing in Manti Temple. It was a very spiritual moment. The spirit was so strong and my heart was filled and joy. We slept in their nice camper with the rest of the family. Alex was a trooper. He did great! He still slept 8 hours! He's a very good boy. We also spent the night in Provo with our friend's home. Thank you Lamaroux family for taking care of us and for the great food! We forgot to take pictures with them...bummer!!! We also visited the Webers! We had a wonderful dinner in their place. They're so fun to be with and we had a good time. We wanna be their neighbor someday so our little boys (Alex and Aether) will be best of friends and we can party every weekend :)

We pretty much went to almost all the historical places in SLC. We spent the night there and headed to Bryce Canyon the following day. The place was beautiful. We went on a hike, shopped a little and toured the beautiful town. On our way home, we stopped in Colorado. We went to the temple and enjoyed the beautiful mountains. I wanna move there someday. But then when I think about their long winter... my mind gets confused.. oh well.

I try to be creative when it comes to his cake. This month, it's carrot cake with pecan.Since we decided not put candles anymore till he turns one, I used 5 m&m's as substitute. This boy almost destroyed his cake. I can't blame him. It's too attractive and he can't eat it.

We tried to take more pictures. This time, he kicked the cake.

My little guy is growing. He's a very sweet little boy. He loves hugs and kisses. He is such a love bug and I love him to death. At 5 months, he can say "hi', "hello" and "ah-ah". Maybe he's trying to say "mama" or "dada" and it just sounds "ah-ah" :)

We went to St. Louis last tuesday, July 22, to visit Cherish. She's a friend from Dumaguete. She works at New Mexico as a teacher. She's in St. louis for a 5-day training. It was nice to see her. We drove 4 hours to get there. Alex was a trooper! He didn't complain at all. We stopped once on our way there to feed him and change his diapers. On our back, he pretty much slept the whole time. It was a nice short trip. I trully missed her.

Seriously, I can NOT live without my camera. I love taking his pictures every day. This baby boy knows how to smile in front of the camera. Father's Day

I surprised Isaac this morning before we went to church. I woke up very very early this morning so I can fix him a special breakfast in bed. Nothing fancy but Isaac loved it!

It's Bacon, toast, scrambled eggs with cheese and strawberry creme cheese bread. I am pretty proud of myself because it only took me an hour to prepare all these. I'm usually pretty slow in the morning.

Alex and I woke our "Bida" with a kiss and gave him 3 presents. It was like Christmas really..

Isaac opened Alex's present first, and read his card. Alex was totally watching him the whole time with his curious face. We was observing...

Alex even signed the card with Mom's help. That made his Dad so happy!

Daddy got a blueray movie from Alex. It's about time to watch Avatar.

I was looking at my mission pictures today and all of a sudden I missed it so much! It was really an honor to be the Lord's ambassador and share His gospel in His chosen vineyard every single day for 18 months. It wasn't easy but it's worth it. I embraced my calling and gave my best. I am so grateful for the opportunity that the Lord has given me. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ.I am grateful that through missionary work, I was able share the gospel of Jesus Christ everyday and bring souls unto Him. It was truly a marvelous work and a wonder. I feel so blessed whenever I see my badge. The joy that I feel in my heart knowing that I helped many souls and planted many seeds in His vineyard through sharing my testimony about the Restoration of His gospel will stay in my heart forever.

This super cute video was taken 2 weeks ago when I was teaching him how to say "hello". He's a fast learner. Alex is seriously a smart baby. He can now say words like: "Hi", "Baba" at 4 months.Those are words that he'll actually repeat when you ask him to say it. His favorite word is "Hello" or (He-yo). He'll say it a lot with a smile nowadays. It melts my heart everytime. He is a sweet little boy. Enjoy watching this video!

Isaac fixed this special breakfast for me on our anniversary. Home made chicken tocino (my favorite filipino breakfast food). And yes, he made the tocino without my help. Scrabled eggs, rice, and waffle with peanut butter and strawberry jelly. I am speechless! This man knows how to treat a woman like a queen.

In the afternoon, we went swimming and we had a blast! In the evening, he took me out on a date. We had a yummy dinner in an italian restaurant called "BRAVO". This is what I ordered:

The food was totally excellent. I had to forget my strict diet for that night :-) Okay, I am blogging too much about food here.

Anyways, we had a wonderful anniversary celebration. It was simple and fun! I just love my Man!

We took Alex to the pool for the 1st time. He was so confused at first because the water was cold and he's not used to it. We thought he'll cry but he loved it! He had a blast playing and kicking in the pool. Although he's coated with lots of sunblock, he still tanned a little bit. I tanned a lot. Isaac though, looks hot in his swim wear :) Too bad i didn't get a picture of him since he was the photographer.

New obsession

His new obsession is his toes. He loves to hold and sometimes suck them. I hope he'll stop doing this when he starts walking. But for now, I think it's cute.

My Lola (grandma) once told me that when a baby starts holding their toes, it means he/she wants a sibling. It's an old wives tale :)

For now, I just want to enjoy Alex and his cuteness. I will give him a brother or a sister in a couple of years.

My boy is 4 month-old yesterday. He weighs 16.8 lbs and measures 27 inches. He's getting really heavy. He had his 4-month shots yesterday he was totally a trooper. His doctor says that he's very healthy and strong!

New Tricks:

*He can say "Hi" loud and clear (it's his first word)He'll repeat it after I say Hi. So it's not a coincident. He can really say the word.

*He'll open and shut his hands when I sing twinkle twinkle little star or Open Shut song.

*He can reach his toes and hold them and even try to suck them. He's flexible.

So when someday his eyes turns green or hazel or light brown...we can always look back to his pictures . I still think he has really gorgeous eyes no matter what color.

"Babies" is a documentary movie that follows the progress of four infants in Namibia, Mongolia, Tokyo and San Francisco from birth to their first birthday. It is precious and truly a wake up call for me... It's An important lesson to learn about raising our kids in a society of excess and material things (specially here in America). This movie should really open our eyes at all the
things we are doing wrong! The producer was on 20/20 and said he realized after filming that the baby in Namibia was the most content-yes- the baby with no toys, no movies, no daycare..., no processed food, etc. It only proves that happiness is not based on material things..All parents should watch this movie.

As a Mother, I want to give Alex everything he needs...And usually, I give him things that I did not have... that includes fancy toys, lots of clothes etc... But after watching this Movie, things will change...specially with me.

Growing up, I did not enjoy all these beautiful fancy toys, branded clothes and shoes. I had few toys. But I realized that all my childhood happy memories did not come from those material things. It all came from happy times with my family and friends that I will cherish forever...

I grew up climbing trees, running all over the place, swimming in a fish pond and river during summer when we visit Grandma,playing with mud and filipino games like chinese garter, tumba preso, lupa langit etc. And oh! I scrapped my knees from playing like a gazillion times...thank God I don't have those scars anymore! I can honestly say that I had a wonderful and happy childhood. I didn't enjoy all the material things in this world but I was a happy and content child. My Mother truly raised us well and I am very grateful for that.

I want Alex to also have a happy life. But I am not going give him all these gadgets and material things to make him happy. We will still buy him few toys since he will not enjoy the freedom that I had when I was a child. The world is different now. But I want him to enjoy life through our love and quality time with him.

I always pray to our loving Heavenly Father for guidance. I know Parenting is not an easy job. But I hope and pray that someday when Alex looks back about his life with us, he will smile and say "I had wonderful and happy life with my family"

We visited our neighboring state last Tuesday. It was a fun short trip. Alex did great! We went to Kansas City. There are actually 2 Kansas Cities. One is Kansas City, Missouri and the other one is Kansas City, Kansas. So anyway, we went to Kansas city, Kansas. It's only 1 and a half hour drive. We went to their biggest Mall, shopped a little bit and went for a walk. We enjoyed their parks and different kinds of water fountains. Alex loved it. I can also tell that he's a very social baby because he'll smile at strangers a lot. Here are some pictures:

He was totally amazed when he finally wore his shoes for the very 1st time

He couldn't stop staring at it...

Finally, he decided he wants to touch it and perhaps eat it? Ahhh...babies are so immature and they tickle your fancy. I love babies!!! Including mine :)

Today is a special day for our Alex. He wore shoes at church for the first time! It's about time because he loves standing a lot. Our Doctor told us that letting our baby go barefoot as much as possible is the best way to develop our baby's feet. When he's barefoot, he can wiggle his toes, balance , and push off with his feet muscles. He also told us to get our baby his first pair of shoes when he begins standing and make sure the shoes are wide enough for our child's foot to lie flat, and long enough for a little extra room to wiggle and grow, maybe one-half inch beyond the toes...yada yada yada! I am not against to those parents who put on shoes to their newborn. I think it's super adorable. It's just our personal decision and we just decided to listen to our doctor's advice. After all, it'll save us money :) But I gotta admit that we're just weird parents sometimes hahaha... It was fun looking forward to this day though. We were both thrilled! Including Alex.

So we bought him some pair of cute shoes this week (all on sale).It has to be on sale because they grow so fast. I learned my lesson about shopping stuffs for babies. I let Daddy picked all of them by the way.

Hopefully, he'll be able to wear them for a long time. We bought bigger sizes so it won't be hard on his cute feet. He wore the light brown one today...Super adorable!!!

* I can scream at the top of my lungs (just for fun) I do it sometimes at church :)

* I can almost roll-over (give me a few weeks)

* I love to stand up when I'm held by someone

* I love watching Baby Einstein Beethoven DVD and mumbles when I see something interesting.

I'm getting big and keeping my Mom busy all day long. But she's lucky 'cause I sleep more than 8 hours at night. I let her sleep all night long so I can keep her busy all day long.

I signed up for a marathon in August. What am I thinking? I don't know. I think It'll be an awesome experience for me. It's okay if I don't get a medal even though I can be every competitive :) This will be my 1st marathon anyway. Isaac is very supportive and he's helping me every step of the way. We stopped eating out and started buying lots of veggies, fish and fat-free chicken. I also enrolled in a turbo tone class which will be twice a week and started walking more than 3 miles each day this week. I will try 4 miles next week and then maybe increase as I gain more energy.I can actually tell that I have more energy and I feel healthier and stronger! No more chocolate for a long time. I think I can keep my sanity without sugar...no biggie! I need to feel physicallyl active and strong again for my family. I want to be a strong Mother not just emotionally and spiritually...but also physically.

I craved for sushi when I was pregnant but my Doctor told me not to eat sushi... mostly because there *are* risks to eating raw foods during pregnancy. But I'm not pregnant anymore. I can eat sushi whenever I want. Today, I had sushi for lunch minus the wasabe 'cause I hate it. It was so good! I love it!

Isaac at 3 months

When Alex was born, everyone thinks that he looks like me. 1st, he had dark hair like mine and he was really tan. But we found out that his billirubin level was a little high that's why his skin was yellowish/tannish. Few weeks later, his skin turned light. His used-to-be almond-shaped eyes are now round like his Dad. His black hair turned brown. His dark gray eyes turned blue. It's quite interesting how he's changed 3 months later. It's funny how people tells me now that he's beginning to look more like his Dad. I don't mind...after all, Isaac is a very beautiful person inside and out.

I also find it interesting how they both sleep with their mouths partially open and their arms raised. Their facial expressions are almost identical when they talk to each other or even when they watch baby shows together. Isaac wakes up with a happy face and so is my son even though he's starving. Alex would always give me a big smile the moment he sees me first thing in the morning.I usually wake up quiet...not grumpy but definitely not smiling. Let's just say, someone you don't wanna mess with in the morning.

I just love watching my Alex grow and watching my Man turn into an awesome and fun-loving Dad. I'm just happy that they are mine forever.

Cooking Mama

I'm totally back in the kitchen! Isaac is still the best cook though. But lately, the kitchen is my territory and I have been learning new recipes. This week, I learned how to cook these meals:

Fish fillet with steamed veggies and cheddar cheese

Isaac totally loved this meal. I am one proud wife! It's delicious! I wasn't expecting it'll taste good because it was my first attempt... but thankfully the result was fantastic! I will definitely cook this meal again.

Baked chicken adobo with pepper.

I totally love this meal! It's very tasty and healthy. I used a fat free skinless breast chicken. I just mixed all the ingredient for adobo and added a sliced red pepper. I baked it for 45 minutes in a 350. It was soooo good! It's even more delicious with rice and canned green beans.

This week, I am looking for more shrimp or salmon recipes. If you have a good recipe you wanna share with me, please do. Happy cooking!

Dear Alex,
I can't believe it's been 3 months, 1 week and 1 day since I gave birth to you. It was a very long journey. We were all excited to see you.
Your Dad gave me a priesthood blessing before we went to the hospital. In his blessing, he mentioned that I will have a safe delivery and there will be no complication. His blessing really strengthened me.

I almost had a C-section but I was stubborn and told the nurse and the Doctor "NO I want a normal delivery and I can do it. Just give me more time" I guess I sounded I little rude (maybe) but I knew I was right! If my Mom made it normal for all 6 of us, then I can do it! I prayed so hard for you! I loved you before I met you my Son.

So they gave me more time ( I guess a LOT of time) It took 28 hours and 30 minutes before I get to hold you in my arms. They told me that I'm getting a C-section if you won't come out in 24 hours.But then, I was prompted to wait a little bit more. So I told them to give me more time. So yeah, because of your Mother's request for more time, I gave a normal delivery. So you see? being stubborn is good sometimes.

The 1st time I heard you cry, I knew that my life will never be the same without you. I was in tears, and so was your dad...you're the most beautiful coned head baby I've ever seen in my whole life!!! :-) Yes! you were a coned head for a day or two! Here's a proof:

Your Daddy did not sleep for almost 2 days. He was beside me the whole time we were waiting for you.He was there when you had your first bath. He took your first pictures and videos. He even changed your diaper when you first pooped. He loves you so much!

When we took you home from the hospital, I was crying on our way home. It was tears of joy. I was looking at you the whole-time. You were sleeping peacefully in your car seat.I asked myself, " Am I going to be a good Mother?" I was a little worried.. Motherhood is probably one of the hardest jobs in the world and yet the most rewarding. You know why? This picture will tell you why:

First Mother's Day

It was a wonderful and memorable Mother's Day celebration for me. My dear husband woke up early to cook a special breakfast for me. I had to forget my strict diet that morning because the food was delicious! After my wonderful meal, Alex and Isaac handed me a big bar of chocolate (all gone) and a beautiful card with a beautiful message. Here's the message from my beloved husband:

Your first Mother's Day is special for you and for me, too You mean the world to me in many ways- as a wonderful wife, my closest friend, and now as the mother of our child. I was a little bit emotional. I am not blaming my hormones this time. It was just a wonderful feeling to be a Mother and a wife. I am truly blessed with a loving and patient husband, and a happy little baby who has brought so much joy into our lives.

While we were getting ready to go to church, Isaac handed me a box. It's identical to the box that he gave me when he proposed more than 4 years ago to marry him.I was super surprise because I already got my biggest present... my beautiful Alex. I wasn't expecting anything anymore. But he told me that it's my 1st Mother's day and it has to be very very special. So here's my 1st mother's day present that I will cherish forever...

It's a beautiful ring! And I love it! I was speechless!

After quitting drinking soda, milk chocolates and junk food. And of course with proper diet and 3 times a week exercises... I can finally see the result!!! 5 lbs. to go and I am back to my pre-preggo weight. I guess it pays to have discipline. It's very hard but it's worth it.
I am not skinny though but I feel great! I am so happy to finally fit in that dress again.

He's supposed to use his jumper when he turns 3 months. But since he's turning 3 months tomorrow, we decided to set it up today and see if he likes it. He loves it! He didn't complain a bit. He only played with it for a few minutes and we made sure it's high so it won't be hard on his little feet. He enjoyed it! They say you can use them when your bubs can hold their head up well by themselves. He can hold his head pretty good. He's a strong baby.

I also took a short clip. We'll probably let him play with his jumper twice a week for now until he turns 4 months. By then he'll be a pro.

4 wheeling

We went 4-wheeling yesterday and we had a blast. The weather was perfect and it was beautiful outside! I just realized that we're still very young and active :-) Thank God for good health and strength! It was an awesome date with Isaac. I love my Man!!!

This strong baby loves to stand up whenever we hold him. He discovered, he has strong legs. He is growing so fast too. At 2 months and 3 weeks, he measures 26 inches long. He's not getting fat, but he's getting taller. I am happy for that growth spurt. I guess because he sleeps through the night... maybe.

Since he loves standing up (with our support of course) Isaac and I decided that we should buy him a baby walker. He's not gonna start walking anytime soon but he can sit there and chill.

So this morning, Daddy surprised little Alex with a new toy...
And boy he loves it! It's his first car/baby walker! He sat there for 10 minutes and totally enjoyed the sounds when ever he presses the buttons accidentally.hahaha. He was smiling and drooling a lot!

Since he started sleeping 8 hours straight at night (and even more sometimes), he's more awake during the day. So I make sure he's busy during the day. Here are some of his favorite activities :

Reading time with Mommy

This little boy loves books! He's a bookworm in the making. I made him hold his favorite book and took this picture. As you can see, he's very interested with the book. I can even read it to him many times during the day. He's a very attentive 2-month-old baby. He loves colorful pictures and shinny objects.

He loves music time

He enjoys playing the piano (just like his Mommy). He loves the sound a lot that he giggles and drools like crazy...hahaha!

Our pet, Charlie is already admiring him for his outstanding talent.hahaha!

His other activities during the day includes: Tummy time, bath, chilling on his play mat, hanging-out with Dad when he gets home, eat, short naps, tickle time and making our hearts melt. He's so PRECIOUS.

We are going on a vacation this summer! We are attending the Job's temple sealing in Manti Temple.I've never seen that temple in person. It's a very beautiful temple. We are so happy and excited for them. It'll be super awesome and we're so happy to be part of it.

This will be Alex's first vacation. He will finally meet his cousins there. I'm sure he will have fun since he will be around 5 months by then...

Fried shrimp with eggs

Ingredients:
1 tsp. olive oil
shrimps
eggs
cornstarch
salt
pepper
onion powder

Instructions:
Pour 1 tsp. olive oil on a non-stick pan and fry shrimps until cooked.
Mix eggs, a little cornstarch ,onion powder, salt and pepper... then fry it with the shrimps.

It's so easy, fast and yummy! I eat it with sweet and sour sauce to add flavor

The reason behind this smiley face is 8 hours of sleep. It's been 2weeks since he started sleeping through the night. I am talking about 8 hours straight without eating or diaper change. I am one of the lucky Moms. He's more awake during the day though but I love that. He's keeping me busy all day long. He still takes short naps and I am okay with that. As long as I sleep good at night. He's such a happy camper. He recognizes me and his Dad and smiles a lot. It's also very easy to make him laugh. He's just perfect.

After re-arranging our living room (again!) I decided to browse some pictures of our 1st house that we rented for more than a year. And I saw these pictures:

Our old living room.That's a hand-me-down couch and coffee table. We gave it to a young couple after we bought our 1st new couch.

Here's another view of the living room. We bought the cheapest futon at walmart and we were so excited. It didn't match our couch at all and it was a little uncomfortable to sit, but we loved it! I am humbled.

PROJECT #1: Our basement / family room

Isaac arranged this room. That teddy bear will be gone today.hahaha.It took us a year to finally put this together. We were just planning for a long time. And then we decided we have to get this done or we'll never be able finish this project if we keep on procrastinating.We removed the ugly carpet and changed the floor. We're still looking for an area rug that will match the furniture.

Here's another view of our family room. It's more like Isaac's corner. I do play video games sometimes...This is our movie place too.

Our small bathroom downstairs. It has a shower too. That orange wall will be gone. We'll paint it white or beige this summer when we have time.

The other half of our basement is my mini photo studio. I didn't take a picture because it's messy right now. I folded most of my equipments. I will organize it first and then I'll post some pictures.

PROJECT #2: LIVING ROOM

This is our living room. We pretty much moved our old furniture downstairs and replaced a red furniture set. I love red and black. I think it's simple and elegant.

Dinner date

We had a dinner date last night in our quiet home. Isaac prepared a special dinner for me. The food was great and very healthy! We enjoyed our time together. It was nice. I still think that Isaac is the best CHEF in the world. I love how my husband loves to cook. I think it's macho. He's just the best husband! And because he's the best husband, I am striving to be THE BEST WIFE IN THE HISTORY OF ALL WIFERY :-P
